Titanium Grade 5 Hex nuts
ISO 4032ASTM B348
Titanium Grade 5 nuts place higher strength than commercially pure titanium at low density in the internal thread and bearing face of the connection. Regular or heavy hex geometry, usable engagement and final condition must match the stud or bolt.

What we can make in Titanium Grade 5
Regular hex
Use on equipment covers and mounting brackets with standard socket access. The compact wrenching envelope is useful where adjacent fasteners or housing walls restrict tool clearance.
Heavy hex
Use on flange-bolting sets and pressure-equipment joints calling for a heavy-hex pattern. The wider bearing footprint and larger wrench size require more seat area and socket clearance than a regular hex nut.
Thin hex
Use in restricted axial spaces or as part of a specified two-nut locking arrangement. Reduced thread engagement means a thin nut is not a direct load-capacity replacement for a full-height nut.

Manufacturing route
Small lots use machined blanks. Volume nut blanks use a forming route compatible with the alloy before machining the bore and tapping.
Heat treatment & final condition
Forming and thermal processing require contamination control. The final surface is cleaned before dimensional and material acceptance.
Finished geometry
Internal thread gauging, usable engagement and bearing-face alignment are checked after final processing.
Where Titanium Grade 5 fits — and what matters

Industrial Machinery & Automation
Machine housings and service coversTitanium Grade 5 hex nuts complete the stud connections on machine housings and service covers. The nut pattern provides the bearing area and thread engagement for the selected stud and tightening method. Alignment, operating cycles and replacement access define the working interface.

Pumps, Valves & OEM
Pump casings and valve bonnetsTitanium Grade 5 hex nuts complete the stud connections on pump casings and valve bonnets. The nut pattern provides the bearing area and thread engagement for the selected stud and tightening method. Repeated maintenance makes fit, engagement and access part of the component specification.

Automotive & EV Manufacturing Equipment
Test-equipment housingsTitanium Grade 5 hex nuts complete the stud connections on test-equipment housings. The nut pattern provides the bearing area and thread engagement for the selected stud and tightening method. Repeated tooling changes require consistent seating and repeatable assembly dimensions.
Same hex nut. Different material priorities.
Titanium Grade 5 material dataTitanium Grade 2
Low mass, corrosion resistance and commercially pure titanium formability.
- Connection priority
- Thread-stripping resistance and bearing pressure
- Commercially pure titanium
- Grade 2 favours corrosion resistance and forming characteristics over the higher strength of Grade 5. Mating-metal contact, surface condition and assembly friction remain part of the connection design. Include liquid retained at the internal threads and the nut-bearing face in the exposure description.
Inconel 718
Precipitation-hardened strength for compact, highly loaded connections.
- Connection priority
- Thread-stripping resistance and bearing pressure
- Strength after aging
- Machine-stock properties and final aged properties describe different states. The final heat-treatment lot and mechanical results establish the strength available in the installed part. At the internal threads and the nut-bearing face, the relevant metal temperature can differ from the process or furnace set point.

Questions about Titanium Grade 5 hex nuts
Does a matching UNS make the stud and nut a matched set?
Matching chemistry addresses only one part of the order. Nut strength, effective engagement, internal thread fit and surface friction must also suit the stud and assembly tightening method.
