What should a Grade 5 titanium bolt callout include?
State Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 and UNS R56400, with the stock and final-condition requirements. B348/B348M is the bar/billet route; F468 and F468M provide separate inch and metric finished-fastener routes within their scope.
Is Grade 23 ELI interchangeable with Grade 5 for a bolt?
Treat Grade 23/ELI as a separate purchase choice with its own material requirements. Keep the design’s specified grade and final condition explicit; neither a Grade 5 name nor a generic titanium certificate establishes an aerospace part approval.
