What is Inconel X-750 and its applications?

Inconel X-750 (UNS N07750) is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy used in gas-turbine parts, springs, fasteners and heat-treatment tooling. Different heat treatments serve different mechanical requirements.

  • Gas turbines: Blades, wheels, bolts and structural members.
  • Springs and fasteners: Components requiring a specified age-hardened condition.
  • Heat-treatment tooling: Fixtures, forming tools and test-machine grips.

Engineering Application & Selection Guide

Aging develops gamma-prime strengthening precipitates. Solution, stabilization and aging treatments can change tensile properties, creep behavior and notch ductility; treatment names must be tied to the relevant product specification.

Compare X-750 and 718 using the required condition and design duty. A room-temperature hardness check does not validate creep resistance, and producer alloy-temperature ranges are not universal fastener limits.

Procurement and application guide

Specify the material and final condition

Specify the heat treatment; X-750 has several distinct property conditions.

Material forms in the technical reference: Round bar · Flat bar · Wire · Sheet · Strip · Plate · Tube · Forging stock · Hexagon & sections.

Define the finished-part acceptance

Include the material or bolting specification, required final condition, dimensions and quantity. State the service medium, temperature and loading where known. Agree the required tests, inspection coverage and acceptance criteria for the finished part.

Start with the information you have

Send a drawing or share the product form and dimensions. Identify any undecided requirements for review rather than copying a typical property value into the purchase order.
