Titanium Grade 5 Flat Washers
ISO 7089 / ISO 7090ASTM B265
Titanium Grade 5 washers provide lightweight bearing components for marine brackets, moving machinery and titanium fastener sets. Their strength is useful beneath loaded heads and nuts, while the washer footprint can be tailored to a small spotface or a wider slotted support.

What we can make in Titanium Grade 5
Normal series
Use under bolt heads and nuts on machined equipment faces with adequate surrounding seat area. The bore must clear the bolt shank and under-head radius so the washer lies flat.
Larger outside diameter
Use over slots, oversized holes and softer mounting surfaces to spread the bearing load. Washer thickness matters as well as diameter: a thin wide washer can dish over an unsupported opening.
Square & special profiles
Use on channel supports, slotted bases and special mounting pads where a round washer leaves insufficient support. Profile and hole position keep the bearing plate seated across the actual opening.

Manufacturing route
Small lots can be machined from suitable stock; repeat production uses cut or punched blanks with bore and outer edge finishing.
Heat treatment & final condition
Forming and thermal processing require contamination control. The final surface is cleaned before dimensional and material acceptance.
Finished geometry
Thickness, flatness and edge finish establish the bearing geometry; the washer is not labelled hardened solely because the alloy is corrosion resistant.
Where Titanium Grade 5 fits — and what matters

High-speed robotic arms & linear gantries
Titanium Grade 5 Flat WashersWashers beneath robotic tool-mount fasteners spread pressure across the tool plate. Grade 5 keeps the added mass low, which becomes useful across a large moving fastener pattern. Thickness must prevent the washer from dishing under the head or nut, particularly where a clearance hole leaves part of it unsupported.
Connection requirements
- Tool-plate hole diameter
- Washer thickness and preload
- Moving mass and outside diameter

Deck winches & topside equipment
Titanium Grade 5 Flat WashersTitanium Grade 5 washers provide light, corrosion-resistant bearing seats on marine brackets carrying substantial nut or bolt-head pressure. On aluminium mounts, the connection may also need insulating washers or sleeves to control galvanic contact. The isolation stack must support the same bearing load.
Connection requirements
- Bracket material and isolation stack
- Supported bearing area
- Washer bore and fastening load

Precision rotary tables & spindle mounts
Titanium Grade 5 Flat WashersWashers on a rotating fixture contribute to the clamped stack and its balance. Grade 5 provides a light bearing component under the retaining nuts. Consistent thickness helps maintain the same stack height around the bolt circle, while concentric bores and controlled outside diameters support repeatable assembly.
Connection requirements
- Thickness tolerance across the set
- Concentricity and mass consistency
- Nut footprint and plate seat
Same washer. Different material priorities.
Titanium Grade 5 material dataInconel 625 Flat Washers
Inconel 625 washers provide replaceable bearing faces on seawater-pump covers and chemical flange joints. Their nickel-chromium-molybdenum corrosion resistance is useful where liquid remains beneath the nut after exposed surfaces dry. Thickness and outside diameter let the washer support the nut pressure on a compact spotface or span a wider support opening.
Inconel 718 Flat Washers
Age-hardened Inconel 718 washers are useful beneath high-preload turbine and valve fasteners, particularly where the seat diameter is restricted. Their strength helps resist permanent indentation at the bearing face. This is a different priority from choosing 625 washers mainly for wet corrosion resistance; the 718 heat-treatment condition belongs on the washer order.
Super Duplex 2507 Flat Washers
2507 washers combine high strength with super duplex chloride resistance for seawater covers, brackets and brine equipment. They are useful where the bearing face is highly loaded and 2205 offers insufficient corrosion margin. The underside is still a crevice, making temperature, deposits and chlorination relevant to the washer selection.

Questions about Titanium Grade 5 flat washers
Should the washer use the same alloy as the bolt?
The wetted assembly may need matching corrosion resistance, but the washer also needs sufficient bearing strength and thickness. The bolt grade does not by itself specify a hardened or load-rated washer.
