Inconel 718 Stud Bolts
ASME B18.31.2 · DIN 976-1ASTM B637 — bar / forgings
Inconel 718 stud bolts pair a precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy with double-ended closure for heavily loaded hot joints that must retain clamp load through start-up, steady running, and shutdown. The alloy resists stress relaxation and fatigue under sustained heat and cyclic load.

What we can make in Alloy 718
Forms & dimension guideFully threaded
Two nuts clamp the flange or cover; usable thread length spans the assembled grip.
Double-end
A plain centre spans the grip, with a threaded portion at each end for the nuts.
Tap-end
One end engages a tapped casing; the exposed end accepts the cover nut.

- Manufacturing
- Cut bar, CNC-finish ends and any grip features; roll or cut the specified threads. Studs do not require a headed-bolt upsetting operation.
- Final condition
- Solution treatment and aging establish the ordered strength and hardness. Hot-service and oilfield routes may differ.

Where 718 fits — and what matters

Gas & steam turbine casing joints
Inconel 718 Stud Bolts718 studs carry turbine-casing tension through long hot runs and subsequent shutdowns. The specified aged condition supplies elevated-temperature strength and creep resistance. Where the casing uses tapped stud holes, the fasteners can remain installed during inspection, reducing repeated handling of the casing threads.
Connection requirements
- Casing flange thickness, gasket type, and required preload
- Stud diameter, overall length, and tensioning clearance at each end
- Temperature range, cycling duty, and age-hardened condition certification

Sour-gas manifolds & valves
Inconel 718 Stud BoltsOn sour-gas valve and manifold flanges, 718 studs can supply high strength within a fixed bolting envelope. The sour-service material condition is central to that choice: the heat treatment and hardness must match the applicable requirements. A generic high-strength 718 condition is not automatically the condition used for this service.
Connection requirements
- Manifold flange rating, gasket type, and required preload
- Stud diameter, overall length, and nut engagement at each end
- Sour-service condition, hardness control, and heat-number certification

High-pressure steam valve bonnets
Inconel 718 Stud BoltsSteam-valve bonnet studs hold the pressure cover while providing a repeatable assembly arrangement for valve servicing. Inconel 718 is useful when elevated-temperature strength is a major part of the specification. The stud and nut are selected together so that the strong stud is supported by a suitable nut proof load and thread fit.
Connection requirements
- Bonnet joint thickness, gasket type, and required preload
- Stud diameter, overall length, and tensioning clearance at each end
- Temperature range, cycling duty, and age-hardened condition certification

Inconel 718 material dataA-286 Stud Bolts
Exhaust manifolds can be removed from the accessible nut side while body-mounted A-286 studs stay installed. The alloy supplies elevated-temperature strength to carry the flange load. Fixed studs also help locate the gasket and manifold during reassembly, making this a practical form for repeatedly serviced hot joints.
Inconel X-750 Stud Bolts
Inconel X-750 studs suit hot bonnet, casing and tie connections under sustained tension. Their precipitation treatment is selected for temperature and load duration. Accessible end nuts allow the load to be applied or released without rotating the stud during assembly and maintenance.
Inconel 625 Stud Bolts
Offshore flanges and marine valve bonnets put the stud threads, nut seats and exposed shank in different pockets of chloride exposure. Inconel 625 studs bring pitting and crevice-corrosion resistance to that loaded connection. On tapped-stud bonnets, crews can remove the nuts and cover while leaving the studs installed in the valve body.

Is every aged 718 condition interchangeable?
Different specifications use different strength, hardness and heat-treatment requirements. A hot-service turbine callout and a sour-service wellhead callout can require different acceptance even when both identify UNS N07718.
