Titanium Grade 5 Phillips pan head screws
ISO 7045ASTM B348
Titanium Grade 5 pan-head screws bring higher strength than commercially pure titanium at low density to panel and cover fixings. The cross recess transfers installation torque while the head footprint spreads load into the panel.

What we can make in Titanium Grade 5
Pan head
Use for panels and covers that can accept a projecting head, avoiding a countersink in thin sheet. The flat underside needs sufficient seat area around the clearance hole.
Phillips drive
Use a matching Phillips type H driver for service and assembly tools. A Pozidriv type Z bit is not the same fit; mismatched recess engagement increases cam-out and head damage.
Machine screw
Use with a tapped boss, nut or threaded insert in equipment panels. Match screw length to the available engagement so a blind hole does not stop the screw before the cover is clamped.

Manufacturing route
CNC machining provides the initial route for special heads and small lots. Formed production requires alloy-specific temperature and surface-contamination control.
Heat treatment & final condition
Forming and thermal processing require contamination control. The final surface is cleaned before dimensional and material acceptance.
Finished geometry
The cross recess is checked for tool engagement and concentricity, followed by thread gauging and under-head length inspection.
Where Titanium Grade 5 fits — and what matters

Industrial Machinery & Automation
Machine guards and instrument panelsTitanium Grade 5 phillips pan head screws attach machine guards and instrument panels through a broad pan-head bearing face where a projecting head is acceptable and a cross-recess tool can reach the screw. Alignment, operating cycles and replacement access define the working interface.

Pumps, Valves & OEM
Actuator housings and removable equipment coversTitanium Grade 5 phillips pan head screws attach actuator housings and removable equipment covers through a broad pan-head bearing face where a projecting head is acceptable and a cross-recess tool can reach the screw. Repeated maintenance makes fit, engagement and access part of the component specification.

Automotive & EV Manufacturing Equipment
Production-machine guards and sensor panelsTitanium Grade 5 phillips pan head screws attach production-machine guards and sensor panels through a broad pan-head bearing face where a projecting head is acceptable and a cross-recess tool can reach the screw. Repeated tooling changes require consistent seating and repeatable assembly dimensions.
Same phillips pan head screw. Different material priorities.
Titanium Grade 5 material dataTitanium Grade 2
Low mass, corrosion resistance and commercially pure titanium formability.
- Connection priority
- Panel clamping and torque transfer through the cross recess
- Commercially pure titanium
- Grade 2 favours corrosion resistance and forming characteristics over the higher strength of Grade 5. Mating-metal contact, surface condition and assembly friction remain part of the connection design. Include liquid retained at the cross recess and the underside of the pan head in the exposure description.
Inconel 718
Precipitation-hardened strength for compact, highly loaded connections.
- Connection priority
- Panel clamping and torque transfer through the cross recess
- Strength after aging
- Machine-stock properties and final aged properties describe different states. The final heat-treatment lot and mechanical results establish the strength available in the installed part. At the cross recess and the underside of the pan head, the relevant metal temperature can differ from the process or furnace set point.

Questions about Titanium Grade 5 phillips pan head screws
What controls installation on a thin panel?
The panel’s bearing strength and the engaged thread can govern before the screw’s tensile strength. Match the head footprint and driver recess to the tightening method and the actual panel or insert.
