Incoloy 800 Hex Nuts
ISO 4032ASTM B408
Incoloy 800 hex nuts pair an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with standard-height mating nuts for retort, exchanger, and shield joints in furnace service. The alloy resists oxidation and carburization at nut faces and threads.

What we can make in Alloy 800
Regular hex
Use on equipment covers and mounting brackets with standard socket access. The compact wrenching envelope is useful where adjacent fasteners or housing walls restrict tool clearance.
Heavy hex
Use on flange-bolting sets and pressure-equipment joints calling for a heavy-hex pattern. The wider bearing footprint and larger wrench size require more seat area and socket clearance than a regular hex nut.
Thin hex
Use in restricted axial spaces or as part of a specified two-nut locking arrangement. Reduced thread engagement means a thin nut is not a direct load-capacity replacement for a full-height nut.

Manufacturing route
Small lots use machined blanks. Volume nut blanks use a forming route compatible with the alloy before machining the bore and tapping.
Heat treatment & final condition
The ordered annealed or solution-treated state is retained in the lot record; forming and machining do not replace the specified thermal condition.
Finished geometry
Internal thread gauging, usable engagement and bearing-face alignment are checked after final processing.
Where 800 fits — and what matters

Retort & muffle covers
Incoloy 800 Hex NutsRegular hex Incoloy 800 nuts fit closely spaced studs on retort accessories and smaller hot covers. They provide heat-resistant internal threads without the footprint of heavy hex hardware. The compact pattern is practical around brackets and connections that are opened during routine furnace maintenance.
Connection requirements
- Mating stud diameter, thread form, and thread class
- Nut height, width across flats, and bearing-face condition required
- Oxidising/carburizing duty, cycling history, and heat-number certification

Heat-exchanger & reactor covers
Incoloy 800 Hex NutsIncoloy 800 hex nuts fasten moderately loaded hot-exchanger accessories and brackets exposed to oxidation. Their regular pattern fits confined mounting points around piping and insulation. These are heat-resistant attachment duties; a support kept under high tensile load through long hot runs calls for comparison with the creep-strengthened 800H condition.
Connection requirements
- Mating stud diameter, thread form, and thread class
- Nut height, width across flats, and bearing-face condition required
- Oxidising/carburizing duty, cycling history, and heat-number certification

Heat shields & furnace linings
Incoloy 800 Hex NutsOn heat-shield retainers and lining supports, regular hex 800 nuts give a compact, oxidation-resistant fastening point. They can be reached between closely spaced brackets and stand-offs. The attachment geometry allows shield movement while the nut secures the supporting hardware.
Connection requirements
- Mating bolt diameter, thread form, and thread class
- Nut height, width across flats, and bearing-face condition required
- Oxidising/carburizing duty, cycling history, and heat-number certification

Incoloy 800 material dataIncoloy 800H Hex Nuts
Incoloy 800H hex nuts fit compact hot supports and selected cover connections governed by sustained loading. Controlled carbon and grain condition distinguish them from general heat-resistant Incoloy 800 nuts. Regular dimensions preserve tooling access around hanger rods and crowded brackets.
Inconel 601 Hex Nuts
Inconel 601 hex nuts fit space-limited retort covers, fixture stacks and lining retainers. They provide oxidation-resistant internal threads in a compact pattern. Regular hex dimensions leave tool clearance around closely arranged supports that cannot accommodate heavy-pattern nuts.
A-286 Hex Nuts
A-286 hex nuts fit compact exhaust and hot-cover connections where a heavy pattern would crowd nearby pipework. Elevated-temperature strength supports the loaded internal threads. On closely spaced manifold studs, the regular nut leaves room to reach each fastening point during servicing.

Questions about 800 hex nuts
Does a matching UNS make the stud and nut a matched set?
Matching chemistry addresses only one part of the order. Nut strength, effective engagement, internal thread fit and surface friction must also suit the stud and assembly tightening method.
