XM-19 Stud Bolts
ASME B18.31.2ASTM A276
XM-19 stud bolts bring nitrogen-strengthened austenitic performance for wet loaded equipment to flange and cover joints. The stud condition, mating nuts and end form determine how the assembly carries and retains clamp load.

Heat Treatment
Solution annealed; cold worked for strengthened conditionsSolution annealing restores a ductile corrosion-resistant structure, while specified cold work raises strength without precipitation aging.
What we can make in XM-19
Fully threaded
Two nuts clamp the flange or cover; usable thread length spans the assembled grip.
Double-end
A plain centre spans the grip, with a threaded portion at each end for the nuts.
Tap-end
One end engages a tapped casing; the exposed end accepts the cover nut.

Manufacturing route
CNC machining suits samples and special end forms. Repeat lots use cut-to-length stock with rolling or cutting selected for the ordered thread and material condition.
Heat treatment & final condition
The final annealed or specified strengthened condition is linked to the lot; an aging treatment is not assumed for a solid-solution alloy.
Finished geometry
End lengths, runout and effective thread engagement are checked separately from overall length; tap ends are gauged to their own fit requirement.
Where XM-19 fits — and what matters

Offshore & Marine
Seawater pump and cooling-system coversXM-19 stud bolts & threaded rods clamp seawater pump and cooling-system covers with nuts on the exposed ends, keeping the stud in place when a cover is removed. The assembled contact is exposed to saltwater, deposits and neighbouring metals.

Water Treatment & Desalination
Filter housings and treatment-pump coversXM-19 stud bolts & threaded rods clamp filter housings and treatment-pump covers with nuts on the exposed ends, keeping the stud in place when a cover is removed. The water stream, cleaning cycle and retained liquid define exposure at the installed part.

Oil & Gas
Process valves and equipment closuresXM-19 stud bolts & threaded rods clamp process valves and equipment closures with nuts on the exposed ends, keeping the stud in place when a cover is removed. Utility connections and pressure-boundary parts have separate acceptance requirements on the equipment drawing.
Same stud. Different material priorities.
XM-19 material dataInconel 625
Solid-solution strength and resistance to aggressive process liquids.
- Connection priority
- Stud tension and clamp-load retention
- Annealed or solution-annealed 625
- The delivery condition affects strength and high-temperature response. Keep the specified condition with the component’s mechanical acceptance; 718-style aging is not the strengthening route for 625. Include liquid retained at the exposed thread roots and nut-bearing faces in the exposure description.
Super Duplex 2507
Super-duplex strength and resistance to chloride pitting.
- Connection priority
- Stud tension and clamp-load retention
- Final duplex structure
- S32750 chemistry and final solution treatment belong together. Forming, section size and cooling affect the structure represented by the mechanical and corrosion records. Include liquid retained at the exposed thread roots and nut-bearing faces in the exposure description.
Monel K-500
Age-hardened strength in the nickel–copper alloy family.
- Connection priority
- Stud tension and clamp-load retention
- Strength and hydrogen exposure
- K-500 gains strength through aging. Cathodic protection, hydrogen exposure and the ordered condition need joint consideration in highly loaded marine components. Include liquid retained at the exposed thread roots and nut-bearing faces in the exposure description.

Questions about XM-19 stud bolts & threaded rods
Does changing the stud alloy also change the nut selection?
The nut needs compatible internal threads, sufficient engaged height and a specified material condition. Select lubricant or surface treatment with the stud–nut pair, because assembly friction affects the preload obtained from tightening.
