Inconel X-750 Hex Nuts
ISO 4032ASTM B637
Inconel X-750 hex nuts pair a precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy with a standard-height mating nut for turbine, exhaust, and boiler bolt systems. Paired with matching X-750 bolts and studs, they support full thread engagement within standard height.

Solution treated and agedSolution treatment prepares the alloy for controlled precipitation aging, which develops the strength of the ordered condition.
What we can make in Alloy X-750
Regular hex
Use on equipment covers and mounting brackets with standard socket access. The compact wrenching envelope is useful where adjacent fasteners or housing walls restrict tool clearance.
Heavy hex
Use on flange-bolting sets and pressure-equipment joints calling for a heavy-hex pattern. The wider bearing footprint and larger wrench size require more seat area and socket clearance than a regular hex nut.
Thin hex
Use in restricted axial spaces or as part of a specified two-nut locking arrangement. Reduced thread engagement means a thin nut is not a direct load-capacity replacement for a full-height nut.

Manufacturing route
Small lots use machined blanks. Volume nut blanks use a forming route compatible with the alloy before machining the bore and tapping.
Heat treatment & final condition
Solution treatment and the specified aging condition are recorded against the production lot; final dimensions are checked after thermal processing.
Finished geometry
Internal thread gauging, usable engagement and bearing-face alignment are checked after final processing.
Where X-750 fits — and what matters

Exhaust manifolds & expansion bellows
Inconel X-750 Hex NutsRegular hex X-750 nuts fit hot exhaust hardware where a heavy nut would crowd neighbouring parts. Their precipitation-hardened condition supports the intended elevated-temperature loading. The compact pattern is useful on brackets and flange accessories with restricted wrench space around the stud.
Connection requirements
- Mating stud diameter, thread form, and thread class
- Nut height, width across flats, and bearing-face condition required
- Temperature range, vibration duty, and heat-number certification

Heat-exchanger & reactor covers
Inconel X-750 Hex NutsHot cover studs can use regular hex X-750 nuts when the bearing layout and proof-load requirement suit the smaller pattern. They provide a heat-resistant, precipitation-hardened nut option for accessible cover connections. The nut specification ties this material condition to the load it is expected to carry.
Connection requirements
- Mating stud diameter, thread form, and thread class
- Nut height, width across flats, and bearing-face condition required
- Temperature range, cycling duty, and heat-number certification

Boiler tube hangers & superheaters
Inconel X-750 Hex NutsOn boiler hanger and superheater support rods, X-750 nuts can form part of a sustained hot-load attachment. The regular hex pattern fits compact brackets and allows position adjustment on threaded ends. The relevant advantage is the alloy's hot mechanical behaviour in the specified treatment condition.

Same hex nut. Different material priorities.
Inconel X-750 material dataInconel 718 Hex Nuts
Around exhaust manifold branches and crowded valve bonnets, Inconel 718 hex nuts offer precipitation-hardened hot strength without the larger envelope of a heavy nut. The regular pattern preserves a path for maintenance tooling between neighbouring studs. Its specified load capacity completes the pairing with the stud.
Nimonic 80A Hex Nuts
Nimonic 80A hex nuts fit compact hot exhaust connections and boiler support rods. Precipitation-hardened strength supports the loaded threads, while the regular pattern leaves tooling room around brackets. On threaded hangers, accessible flats also allow position adjustment during installation.
Incoloy 800H Hex Nuts
Incoloy 800H hex nuts fit compact hot supports and selected cover connections governed by sustained loading. Controlled carbon and grain condition distinguish them from general heat-resistant Incoloy 800 nuts. Regular dimensions preserve tooling access around hanger rods and crowded brackets.

Questions about X-750 hex nuts
Does a matching UNS make the stud and nut a matched set?
Matching chemistry addresses only one part of the order. Nut strength, effective engagement, internal thread fit and surface friction must also suit the stud and assembly tightening method.
