Inconel 718 Hex flange bolts
ISO 4162ASTM B637
An integral flange spreads the bearing load of a Inconel 718 bolt. Precipitation-hardened strength for compact, highly loaded connections addresses the service exposure; plain or serrated seating determines contact with the supported surface.

Heat Treatment
Solution treated and agedFor A1014 bolting, solution treatment is followed by precipitation aging to develop the specified high-temperature strength.
What we can make in Alloy 718
Integral flange
Use on mounting brackets and equipment covers to distribute head load over a wider seat and reduce loose parts during assembly. The flange needs a flat landing clear of nearby walls and radii.
Plain bearing face
Choose a plain underside for finished or coated seats where teeth would mark the surface. It also permits controlled sliding at the head-seat interface during tightening.
Flange vs loose washer
An integral flange speeds repeated assembly by keeping the bearing surface with the bolt. Retain a separate washer when the joint needs a replaceable wear face or a specifically hardened bearing layer.

Manufacturing route
CNC machining suits samples and small batches. Volume heads are formed in a workable condition with the final aging route included in process planning.
Heat treatment & final condition
Solution treatment and the specified aging condition are recorded against the production lot; final dimensions are checked after thermal processing.
Finished geometry
Head geometry, bearing face, shank and thread fit are checked after the final machining and thermal operations.
Where 718 fits — and what matters

Furnaces & Heat Treatment
Heat-treatment fixturesInconel 718 hex flange bolts clamp heat-treatment fixtures through an integral flange that spreads head load over the mounting face. Hot dwell, thermal expansion and repeated furnace cycles set the working load.

Power & Turbines
Boiler-duct supports and hot auxiliary bracketsInconel 718 hex flange bolts clamp boiler-duct supports and hot auxiliary brackets through an integral flange that spreads head load over the mounting face. Hot dwell and start-stop expansion act on the supported or moving component.

Chemical Processing
Reformer tube-support and heater fixturesInconel 718 hex flange bolts clamp reformer tube-support and heater fixtures through an integral flange that spreads head load over the mounting face. These parts work in the heated equipment zone, where sustained loading and thermal expansion govern their section and clearance.

Inconel 718 material dataIncoloy 800HT
Tightly controlled carbon and Al + Ti for creep duty.
- Connection priority
- Clamp load spread over the integral flange
- N08811 material control
- 800HT tightens the 800-family chemistry around creep performance. Its solution-treated, coarse-grain condition and N08811 identity should remain linked through forming and final acceptance. At the broad flange underside and its edge against the member, the relevant metal temperature can differ from the process or furnace set point.
A-286
Aged iron–nickel alloy strength for hot bolting.
- Connection priority
- Clamp load spread over the integral flange
- Grade 660 class
- An ASTM A453 Grade 660 order includes its class and corresponding processing requirements. The alloy name A-286 alone does not identify that acceptance condition. At the broad flange underside and its edge against the member, the relevant metal temperature can differ from the process or furnace set point.
310S
Low-carbon heat resistance in oxidation-exposed equipment.
- Connection priority
- Clamp load spread over the integral flange
- 310S is not 310H
- S31008 is the low-carbon grade. For a component under sustained hot load, distinguish that specification from the controlled-carbon creep purpose of S31009. At the broad flange underside and its edge against the member, the relevant metal temperature can differ from the process or furnace set point.

Questions about 718 hex flange bolts
Can the flange replace a separate washer?
Only when its bearing footprint and the supported surface meet the assembly requirement. A serrated seat can damage a coating, while a thin or slotted member may need a different bearing arrangement.
