Super Duplex 2507 Heavy Hex Nuts
ASME B18.2.2ASTM A276
Super Duplex 2507 heavy hex nuts pair corrosion-resistant internal threads with a substantial wrenching body for seawater stud joints. Pump covers and desalination flanges use this form where nut proof load, full engagement and access for tightening are all important.

What we can make in Super Duplex 2507
Regular hex
Use on equipment covers and mounting brackets with standard socket access. The compact wrenching envelope is useful where adjacent fasteners or housing walls restrict tool clearance.
Heavy hex
Use on flange-bolting sets and pressure-equipment joints calling for a heavy-hex pattern. The wider bearing footprint and larger wrench size require more seat area and socket clearance than a regular hex nut.
Thin hex
Use in restricted axial spaces or as part of a specified two-nut locking arrangement. Reduced thread engagement means a thin nut is not a direct load-capacity replacement for a full-height nut.

Manufacturing route
Small lots use machined blanks. Volume nut blanks use a forming route compatible with the alloy before machining the bore and tapping.
Heat treatment & final condition
Solution treatment and cooling control the duplex structure. Subsequent processing must preserve the ordered corrosion and mechanical condition.
Finished geometry
Internal thread gauging, usable engagement and bearing-face alignment are checked after final processing.
Where Super Duplex 2507 fits — and what matters

Seawater pumps
Super Duplex 2507 Heavy Hex NutsA seawater-pump cover transfers stud tension through the nut threads and bearing face. 2507 heavy hex nuts provide super duplex corrosion resistance at both locations. Their larger hex is useful for repeated overhaul work, provided the casing layout leaves clearance for the socket beside each adjacent nut.
Connection requirements
- Stud tension and nut proof load
- Socket clearance on the bolt circle
- Washer and spotface dimensions

Brine booster & high-pressure pumps
Super Duplex 2507 Heavy Hex NutsBrine booster cover nuts remain exposed to concentrated salt deposits after small leaks or washdown. 2507 heavy hex nuts are useful where the pump specification selects super duplex bolting. Nut height must provide full thread engagement while retaining enough stud projection for the selected tightening and inspection method.
Connection requirements
- Brine and cleaning exposure
- Nut height and stud projection
- Thread fit and proof-load requirement

Subsea & ROV connections
Super Duplex 2507 Heavy Hex Nuts2507 heavy hex nuts can serve subsea stud connections whose drawing and installation tool require that profile. They provide strength and chloride resistance at the loaded threads. For cathodically protected assemblies, the qualification also addresses hydrogen-induced stress cracking under the actual load and protection conditions.
Connection requirements
- Installation tool and nut envelope
- Cathodic-protection conditions
- Stud pairing and nut acceptance requirements

Super Duplex 2507 material dataDuplex 2205 Heavy Hex Nuts
2205 heavy hex nuts suit chloride-process closures where a stronger duplex nut is useful alongside the corrosion-resistant stud. The large hex assists tightening and removal on pump and valve covers. Selecting the nut proof load and bearing seat completes the mechanical pairing; it does not follow automatically from choosing the same alloy.
Super Duplex S32760 Heavy Hex Nuts
S32760 heavy hex nuts suit stud sets whose project specification calls for this particular super duplex grade. They bring corrosion resistance to the engaged threads and the nut seat, with a larger hex for tooling. A same-grade nut still needs its own proof-load and dimensional acceptance requirements.
Inconel 625 Heavy Hex Nuts
Inconel 625 heavy hex nuts suit substantial seawater and wet-chloride stud connections. Localized-corrosion resistance matters beneath the seating face and inside the loaded threads. The broad pattern fits robust pump spotfaces and subsea connections with sufficient clearance for the installation tooling.

Questions about Super Duplex 2507 hex nuts
Does a matching UNS make the stud and nut a matched set?
Matching chemistry addresses only one part of the order. Nut strength, effective engagement, internal thread fit and surface friction must also suit the stud and assembly tightening method.
