Heat Treatment

Annealed or age hardened

Annealing provides a workable starting condition, while controlled aging develops the higher strength specified for age-hardened K-500.

What we can make in Monel K-500

Forms & dimension guide
Clamping stud: two threaded ends with a plain shank

Clamping stud

Use for through-bolted covers and housings with access to both nuts. The plain grip spans the joint; independently sized threaded ends accommodate unequal nut-side clearances.

Tap-end stud: unequal threaded ends

Tap-end stud

Use on valve bonnets and machine housings opened repeatedly for maintenance. The insertion end remains in the body while the outer nut is removed, reducing repeated wear of the housing thread.

Overall length · central grip · each end length and fit
Manufacturing
CNC-turn the central grip and shoulders, then produce the two thread ends to their separate lengths and fits.
Final condition
Aging develops strength; the incoming stock condition and finished-part hardness are recorded together.

Where K-500 fits — and what matters

Ship machinery compartment with green pumps, insulated pipes and pressure gauges

Offshore & Marine

Seawater pump and cooling-system covers

Monel K-500 double-end studs connect seawater pump and cooling-system covers through a threaded body end and an accessible nut end. The plain shank spans the cover grip. The assembled contact is exposed to saltwater, deposits and neighbouring metals.

Water Treatment & Desalination

Filter housings and treatment-pump covers

Monel K-500 double-end studs connect filter housings and treatment-pump covers through a threaded body end and an accessible nut end. The plain shank spans the cover grip. The water stream, cleaning cycle and retained liquid define exposure at the installed part.

Oil & Gas

Process valves and equipment closures

Monel K-500 double-end studs connect process valves and equipment closures through a threaded body end and an accessible nut end. The plain shank spans the cover grip. Utility connections and pressure-boundary parts have separate acceptance requirements on the equipment drawing.

Questions about K-500 double-end studs

Can the body end and nut end use different fits?

Yes, the two ends can be machined to the specified fits and lengths. Identify a tap-end or interference-fit requirement explicitly; a plain double-end stud does not define a locking body thread.
