Hastelloy C-276 Socket Head Cap Screws
ISO 4762ASTM B574
Hastelloy C-276 socket head cap screws pair a solid-solution nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with a compact, tapped assembly form for wet acid and chloride components. The alloy resists pitting, crevice attack, and chloride stress-corrosion cracking.

What we can make in Hastelloy C-276
Partial thread
Use where a plain grip must span the clamped components. Match the under-head length and thread length so the screw tightens the stack before its thread runout reaches the tapped hole.
Full thread
Use for shorter component stacks and varied tapped-hole depths. The longer usable thread offers adjustment, while the screw end must clear the bottom of a blind hole.

Manufacturing route
CNC machining suits samples and small lots. Cold heading or hot forging is selected for volume production according to alloy formability, head section and size.
Heat treatment & final condition
The final annealed or specified strengthened condition is linked to the lot; an aging treatment is not assumed for a solid-solution alloy.
Finished geometry
Head geometry, bearing face, shank and thread fit are checked after the final machining and thermal operations.
Where C-276 fits — and what matters
Chemical delivery systems (CDS) & VMBs
Hastelloy C-276 Socket Head Cap ScrewsHastelloy C-276 socket screws secure covers near chemical-delivery manifolds where process drips and washdown reach recessed fasteners. Corrosion resistance matters inside the drive pocket as well as along the loaded shank. Axial access lets a technician remove the cover between closely packed fittings without needing wrench clearance around each head.
Connection requirements
- Tapped-hole size, thread form, and effective engagement depth
- Head diameter, head height, and socket depth for drive engagement
- Acid and chloride exposure, and heat-number certification
Wet-process auxiliary covers & scrubbers
Hastelloy C-276 Socket Head Cap ScrewsSmall cover screws on wet-process and scrubber auxiliaries can collect condensate inside their drive recesses. C-276 provides a corrosion-resistant option for these compact fastening points. The socket head suits recessed cover mounts, while the assembly layout determines how readily retained liquid can drain or be cleaned away.
Connection requirements
- Tapped-hole size, thread form, and effective engagement depth
- Head diameter, head height, and counterbore clearance required
- Wet chloride exposure, shutdown chemistry, and heat-number certification

Chemical transfer pump casings
Hastelloy C-276 Socket Head Cap ScrewsAround a chemical pump's seal housing and compact covers, an internal hex drive can reach fasteners that adjacent fittings obstruct. C-276 adds resistance to suitable aggressive process liquids at those exposed screws. It is a useful combination for small removable components close to the pump's leakage and washdown zones.
Connection requirements
- Tapped-hole size, thread form, and effective engagement depth
- Head diameter, head height, and socket depth for drive engagement
- Acid and chloride exposure, and heat-number certification

Hastelloy C-276 material dataHastelloy C-22 Socket Head Cap Screws
Hastelloy C-22 socket head cap screws fit compact chemical-delivery and wet-process mounts exposed to mixed or oxidizing media. Axial access reaches recessed holes near congested piping. For high-purity or chamber locations, finish and cleaning requirements accompany the alloy specification.
Hastelloy B-3 Socket Head Cap Screws
Hastelloy B-3 socket head cap screws fasten compact pump and exchanger accessories in strongly reducing acid service. Axial access helps around crowded fittings. Improved thermal stability distinguishes the alloy from B-2 during fabrication; process contaminants still determine whether the finished screw is chemically suitable.
Inconel 625 Socket Head Cap Screws
Inconel 625 socket head cap screws fit compact seawater housings and wet-process covers where liquid can remain beneath the head or inside the drive. Chloride pitting and crevice-corrosion resistance supports these exposed fastening points. Axial access suits recessed mounts between adjacent fittings.

Questions about C-276 socket head cap screws
What changes when the screw is stronger than the housing?
The housing thread can strip before the screw reaches its tensile capacity. The engagement depth and housing material therefore belong in the joint assessment alongside the screw’s final strength condition.
