Hastelloy C-22 Socket Head Cap Screws
ISO 4762ASTM B574
Hastelloy C-22 socket head cap screws pair a solid-solution nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with a compact, tapped assembly form for wet-process covers, chemical delivery blocks, and vacuum chamber mounts exposed to aggressive and high-purity chemistry. The alloy resists pitting and crevice attack at tapped joints.

What we can make in Hastelloy C-22
Partial thread
Use where a plain grip must span the clamped components. Match the under-head length and thread length so the screw tightens the stack before its thread runout reaches the tapped hole.
Full thread
Use for shorter component stacks and varied tapped-hole depths. The longer usable thread offers adjustment, while the screw end must clear the bottom of a blind hole.

Manufacturing route
CNC machining suits samples and small lots. Cold heading or hot forging is selected for volume production according to alloy formability, head section and size.
Heat treatment & final condition
The final annealed or specified strengthened condition is linked to the lot; an aging treatment is not assumed for a solid-solution alloy.
Finished geometry
Head geometry, bearing face, shank and thread fit are checked after the final machining and thermal operations.
Where C-22 fits — and what matters
Wet-process auxiliary covers & scrubbers
Hastelloy C-22 Socket Head Cap ScrewsWet-process auxiliary covers often use compact screws around congested piping and enclosures. C-22 socket screws combine axial access with corrosion resistance in mixed or oxidizing chemical exposure. Their recessed drive is useful for packaging, while the alloy protects the screw surfaces reached by condensate and cleaning liquids.
Connection requirements
- Tapped-hole size, thread form, and effective engagement depth
- Head diameter, head height, and socket depth for drive engagement
- Exposure chemistry, cycling duty, and heat-number certification
Chemical delivery systems (CDS) & VMBs
Hastelloy C-22 Socket Head Cap ScrewsHastelloy C-22 socket screws secure covers near chemical-delivery manifolds exposed to mixed liquids or oxidizing washdown. Corrosion resistance protects the small loaded fastener where liquid remains in the counterbore and drive pocket. Axial tool access is useful between adjacent fittings; high-purity locations also call for a defined surface finish and cleaning condition.
Connection requirements
- Tapped-hole size, thread form, and effective engagement depth
- Head diameter, head height, and socket depth for drive engagement
- Exposure chemistry, cycling duty, and heat-number certification
Vacuum & etch chamber structural mounts
Hastelloy C-22 Socket Head Cap ScrewsHastelloy C-22 socket screws fasten external etch-system support brackets exposed to corrosive residues and cleaning liquids. They bring mixed-media corrosion resistance to recessed mounting points close to other hardware. These auxiliary mounts combine chemical exposure with restricted access, giving the alloy and head form distinct jobs in the same connection.
Connection requirements
- Tapped-hole size, thread form, and effective engagement depth
- Head diameter, head height, and socket depth for drive engagement
- Exposure chemistry, cycling duty, and heat-number certification
Same socket head cap screw. Different material priorities.
Hastelloy C-22 material dataHastelloy C-276 Socket Head Cap Screws
Hastelloy C-276 socket head cap screws fit compact chemical-pump and delivery-system attachments with restricted wrench access. Corrosion resistance matters at the loaded screw and liquid-retaining drive recess. Axial tooling reaches recessed holes near fittings and manifold hardware.
Hastelloy B-3 Socket Head Cap Screws
Hastelloy B-3 socket head cap screws fasten compact pump and exchanger accessories in strongly reducing acid service. Axial access helps around crowded fittings. Improved thermal stability distinguishes the alloy from B-2 during fabrication; process contaminants still determine whether the finished screw is chemically suitable.
Inconel 625 Socket Head Cap Screws
Inconel 625 socket head cap screws fit compact seawater housings and wet-process covers where liquid can remain beneath the head or inside the drive. Chloride pitting and crevice-corrosion resistance supports these exposed fastening points. Axial access suits recessed mounts between adjacent fittings.

Questions about C-22 socket head cap screws
What changes when the screw is stronger than the housing?
The housing thread can strip before the screw reaches its tensile capacity. The engagement depth and housing material therefore belong in the joint assessment alongside the screw’s final strength condition.
