Inconel 601 Hex Flange Bolts
ISO 4162 · ASME B18.2.1ASTM B166 — rod / bar
Inconel 601 hex flange bolts secure burner brackets, heat shields and hot-equipment covers exposed to oxidising furnace gases. The integral flange provides the bearing footprint in one part, while the alloy’s aluminium-enhanced oxidation resistance addresses scaling around the exposed head and shank.

Inconel 601 in this connection
The flange is useful where a separate washer is awkward to retain during overhead or confined assembly. Its outside diameter and underside geometry determine how it seats against the bracket, including any nearby bends, welds or counterbores.

What we can make in Alloy 601
Forms & dimension guideIntegral flange
Use on mounting brackets and equipment covers to distribute head load over a wider seat and reduce loose parts during assembly. The flange needs a flat landing clear of nearby walls and radii.
Plain bearing face
Choose a plain underside for finished or coated seats where teeth would mark the surface. It also permits controlled sliding at the head-seat interface during tightening.
Flange vs loose washer
An integral flange speeds repeated assembly by keeping the bearing surface with the bolt. Retain a separate washer when the joint needs a replaceable wear face or a specifically hardened bearing layer.

Where 601 fits — and what matters

Furnaces & Heat Treatment
Burner mounts & nozzlesA burner mounting bracket can be exposed to hot air on one face while its support remains much cooler. Inconel 601 flange bolts suit the oxidation side of that duty, and their broad underside bears directly on a prepared mounting pad. Combining the head and bearing flange reduces the number of loose pieces to handle when fitting a burner inside a crowded furnace wall.

Furnaces & Heat Treatment
Heat shields & furnace liningsShield retaining strips and lining support brackets repeatedly heat and cool as the furnace cycles. Inconel 601 is useful here because its protective oxide resists spalling during thermal exposure. The flange bolt supplies a defined bearing area over the retaining strip, and the hex drive is accessible with conventional tooling during installation or replacement. Slotted shield holes need sufficient travel and bearing overlap for the intended thermal movement.

Power & Turbines
Exhaust manifolds & expansion bellowsOn exhaust-system outer shields and support brackets, the bolt head may see prolonged hot-gas-side oxidation even though it is outside the pressure boundary. An Inconel 601 flange bolt combines scaling resistance with a broad seat on the support pad. It is particularly useful where the assembly drawing calls for a one-piece bearing head and maintenance access is limited around nearby insulation.

Inconel 601 material data310S hex flange bolts
310S hex flange bolts provide an oxidation-resistant stainless option for shield retainers, covers and furnace brackets. They suit projects centred on conventional hot-air furnace hardware and a defined flange seat. Compare the operating cycle and sustained load with the equipment drawing when deciding whether the extra oxidation resistance of Inconel 601 is needed.
Incoloy 800H hex flange bolts
Incoloy 800H hex flange bolts suit hot support brackets where creep over long operating periods is part of the design problem. Its controlled composition and solution-treated structure address sustained elevated-temperature loading. The flange still spreads the bearing contact on the bracket; the material decision is driven by time under load rather than the convenience of the head.
A-286 hex flange bolts
Heated test fixtures and auxiliary housings can place more emphasis on bolt strength than on furnace-scale resistance. A-286 hex flange bolts use solution treatment and ageing to develop their mechanical properties, while the integral flange bears on the housing pad without a loose washer. They offer a different fastener choice for these compact, loaded joints.

Does the integral flange replace a washer?
It can provide the bearing area that a separate washer would otherwise supply, when the assembly is designed for that flange diameter and underside. Specify a plain or serrated face and check its seating footprint against slots, counterbores and welds. Insulating washers, locking devices and washers needed to bridge oversized holes still have their own functions.
