Titanium Grade 5 wire

EN 10204 3.1

Titanium Grade 5 wire brings higher strength than commercially pure titanium at low density to formed pins, retainers and specified spring components. Diameter, supplied temper and surface quality determine the feasible forming and final-treatment route.

Heat Treatment

Annealed

Annealing reduces working stresses and restores ductility, with atmosphere and surface control limiting contamination during heating.

What we can make in Titanium Grade 5

Coiled wire

Coiled wire

Use for repeated spring coiling, wire forming and cold-heading feeds. Wire condition must match the next operation: ductile feedstock for heavy forming, spring temper where the design needs elastic strength.

Wire on spool

Spooled wire

Use for controlled payout into automatic feeding and winding equipment. Spool dimensions and winding quality affect uninterrupted feeding as much as wire diameter.

Straight wire lengths

Straight lengths

Use for individual pins, straight wire components and small batches without a coil-feeding line. Straightness and cut-end condition reduce preparation before machining or forming.

Supply & preparation

Coil, spool or straightened lengths are identified with diameter and supplied temper; spring wire and heading wire are different orders.

Material condition

Forming and thermal processing require contamination control. The final surface is cleaned before dimensional and material acceptance.

Finished geometry

Diameter, surface defects, coil set and packaging are checked against the intended forming process.

Where Titanium Grade 5 fits — and what matters

Industrial Machinery & Automation

Machine frames and positioning fixtures

Titanium Grade 5 wire is formed into retaining clips, wire pins or spring blanks for machine frames and positioning fixtures. Wire diameter and supplied temper define the forming step and subsequent final-condition treatment. Alignment, operating cycles and replacement access define the working interface.

Pumps, Valves & OEM

Actuator mounts and pump baseplates

Titanium Grade 5 wire is formed into retaining clips, wire pins or spring blanks for actuator mounts and pump baseplates. Wire diameter and supplied temper define the forming step and subsequent final-condition treatment. Repeated maintenance makes fit, engagement and access part of the component specification.

Automotive & EV Manufacturing Equipment

Assembly fixtures and test-rig frames

Titanium Grade 5 wire is formed into retaining clips, wire pins or spring blanks for assembly fixtures and test-rig frames. Wire diameter and supplied temper define the forming step and subsequent final-condition treatment. Repeated tooling changes require consistent seating and repeatable assembly dimensions.

Titanium Grade 2

Low mass, corrosion resistance and commercially pure titanium formability.

Connection priority
The strength or spring response of the formed wire
Commercially pure titanium
Grade 2 favours corrosion resistance and forming characteristics over the higher strength of Grade 5. Mating-metal contact, surface condition and assembly friction remain part of the connection design. Include liquid retained at tight bends and the original wire surface after forming in the exposure description.

Strength after aging
Machine-stock properties and final aged properties describe different states. The final heat-treatment lot and mechanical results establish the strength available in the installed part. At tight bends and the original wire surface after forming, the relevant metal temperature can differ from the process or furnace set point.

Questions about Titanium Grade 5 wire

Can heading wire and spring wire be ordered by grade alone?

Their forming and working-strength requirements differ. Specify diameter, supplied temper, surface condition and the intended operation so the wire can follow the required manufacturing route.
