Titanium Grade 2 round bar

ASTM B348

Titanium Grade 2 round bar supplies low mass, corrosion resistance and commercially pure titanium formability to machined shafts, retainers and fastening parts. Diameter allowance and delivery condition determine the route from stock to the final loaded section.

Heat Treatment

Annealed

Annealing reduces working stresses and restores ductility, with atmosphere and surface control limiting contamination during heating.

What we can make in Titanium Grade 2

Full-length round bar

Full-length bar

Use for repeated turning of shafts, studs and valve components from one heat-traceable stock length. Bar diameter must include machining allowance for the finished surface and straightness.

Cut round-bar blank

Cut blank

Use saw-cut blanks for short-run machining or forging starts. Cutting allowance and end squareness affect how much usable length remains after facing.

Supply & preparation

Cut lengths preserve the heat identity of the original bar. Turning or grinding allowance follows the required finished diameter.

Material condition

Forming and thermal processing require contamination control. The final surface is cleaned before dimensional and material acceptance.

Finished geometry

Diameter, straightness, surface condition and cut length are checked against the stock order.

Where Titanium Grade 2 fits — and what matters

Silver distillation columns with access ladders and yellow service platforms

Chemical Processing

Pump shafts and mixer-drive parts

Titanium Grade 2 round bar provides machining stock for pump shafts and mixer-drive parts, including turned shoulders, bearing seats and threaded ends. Bar diameter includes the allowance for finishing the final part. Process liquid can remain at the contact after the exposed surface drains.

Pumps, Valves & OEM

Valve stems and pump-drive collars

Titanium Grade 2 round bar provides machining stock for valve stems and pump-drive collars, including turned shoulders, bearing seats and threaded ends. Bar diameter includes the allowance for finishing the final part. Repeated maintenance makes fit, engagement and access part of the component specification.

Mining & Mineral Processing

Dosing-pump shafts and agitator-drive parts

Titanium Grade 2 round bar provides machining stock for dosing-pump shafts and agitator-drive parts, including turned shoulders, bearing seats and threaded ends. Bar diameter includes the allowance for finishing the final part. Leach solution and deposits act on the installed part; corrosion duty is separate from abrasive wear.

Titanium Grade 2 material data
UNS N10276

Hastelloy C-276

Resistance to chemically aggressive, mixed process streams.

Connection priority
The mechanical requirement of the machined section
Process liquid and shutdown chemistry
C-276 is selected for its nickel–chromium–molybdenum–tungsten chemistry. Residual product, cleaning liquid and oxidising contamination can expose a sheltered connection differently from the main flow. Include liquid retained at the machined diameter and cut surfaces of the future part in the exposure description.

UNS N06625

Inconel 625

Solid-solution strength and resistance to aggressive process liquids.

Connection priority
The mechanical requirement of the machined section
Annealed or solution-annealed 625
The delivery condition affects strength and high-temperature response. Keep the specified condition with the component’s mechanical acceptance; 718-style aging is not the strengthening route for 625. Include liquid retained at the machined diameter and cut surfaces of the future part in the exposure description.
Inconel 625 round bar
UNS N06022

Hastelloy C-22

Corrosion resistance across oxidising and reducing process exposures.

Connection priority
The mechanical requirement of the machined section
Production and cleaning cycles
C-22’s chromium-bearing chemistry is relevant when chemical exposure changes between operating and cleaning cycles. Include both liquids when comparing it with C-276 or a B-type nickel alloy. Include liquid retained at the machined diameter and cut surfaces of the future part in the exposure description.

Questions about Titanium Grade 2 round bar

Is the bar condition the same as the finished-part condition?

Not necessarily. A solution-treated or annealed blank may be selected for machining before a specified final treatment. Stock and finished-part mechanical records need to identify the conditions they represent.
