Heat Treatment

Annealed or solution annealed

For B446 stock, Grade 1 is annealed and Grade 2 is solution annealed; the higher-temperature solution treatment supports creep resistance rather than age hardening.

What we can make in Alloy 625

Forms & dimension guide
Fully threaded and partially threaded twelve-point flange bolts, side views

Fully threaded / Partially threaded

The difference is the plain shank. Fully threaded bolts have threads along the shank up to the head transition; partially threaded bolts retain an unthreaded grip section beneath the flange.

External twelve-point head compared with internal spline recess

External head / Internal recess

The difference is where the tool engages. An external 12-point head is gripped around its outside by a matching socket. An internal spline recess is driven by a bit inserted into the head. These are different drive structures and should not be specified interchangeably.

Where 625 fits — and what matters

Gas-processing plant with a process tower and twin stacks beyond a cultivated field

Oil & Gas

Utility skids and instrument supports

Inconel 625 12-point flange bolts fasten utility skids and instrument supports where a 12-point socket gives useful indexing around restricted equipment access. The flange supports the loaded head seat. Utility connections and pressure-boundary parts have separate acceptance requirements on the equipment drawing.

Pumps, Valves & OEM

Actuator mounts and pump baseplates

Inconel 625 12-point flange bolts fasten actuator mounts and pump baseplates where a 12-point socket gives useful indexing around restricted equipment access. The flange supports the loaded head seat. Repeated maintenance makes fit, engagement and access part of the component specification.

Chemical Processing

Mixer drives and process-equipment brackets

Inconel 625 12-point flange bolts fasten mixer drives and process-equipment brackets where a 12-point socket gives useful indexing around restricted equipment access. The flange supports the loaded head seat. Process liquid can remain at the contact after the exposed surface drains.

Questions about 625 12-point flange bolts

Can the same torque be used as for a 625 hex bolt?

Head form, bearing diameter, lubrication and thread engagement affect the torque-to-preload relationship. Use the assembly procedure for this joint rather than transferring a value based only on the alloy.
