Forms & dimension guide
Hex flange bolt integral bearing flange

Integral flange

Use on mounting brackets and equipment covers to distribute head load over a wider seat and reduce loose parts during assembly. The flange needs a flat landing clear of nearby walls and radii.

Smooth underside of flange, end view

Plain bearing face

Choose a plain underside for finished or coated seats where teeth would mark the surface. It also permits controlled sliding at the head-seat interface during tightening.

Integral flange versus separate washer

Flange vs loose washer

An integral flange speeds repeated assembly by keeping the bearing surface with the bolt. Retain a separate washer when the joint needs a replaceable wear face or a specifically hardened bearing layer.

Manufacturing
CNC-machine sample heads and bearing flanges. For production, form the blank by the suitable cold-heading or hot-forging route and finish the seating face and threads.
Final condition
Solution annealing establishes the specified stainless condition; age hardening is not the strengthening route.

Industrial Machinery & Automation

Machine frames and positioning fixtures

316L hex flange bolts clamp machine frames and positioning fixtures through an integral flange that spreads head load over the mounting face. Alignment, operating cycles and replacement access define the working interface.

Food & Beverage Equipment

Conveyor and washdown-equipment brackets

316L hex flange bolts clamp conveyor and washdown-equipment brackets through an integral flange that spreads head load over the mounting face. Cleaning liquid can remain under the part; exposed finish and access for cleaning matter at the assembled joint.

Water Treatment & Desalination

Membrane-skid and pump supports

316L hex flange bolts clamp membrane-skid and pump supports through an integral flange that spreads head load over the mounting face. The water stream, cleaning cycle and retained liquid define exposure at the installed part.

Questions about 316L hex flange bolts

Smooth flange or serrated flange on a 316L order?

Specify the bearing face on the drawing. Serrations can mark a coated or stainless mating surface; a smooth flange is a different interface and does not automatically provide a locking function.
