Forms & dimension guideClamping stud
Use for through-bolted covers and housings with access to both nuts. The plain grip spans the joint; independently sized threaded ends accommodate unequal nut-side clearances.
Tap-end stud
Use on valve bonnets and machine housings opened repeatedly for maintenance. The insertion end remains in the body while the outer nut is removed, reducing repeated wear of the housing thread.

- Overall length · central grip · each end length and fit
- Manufacturing
- CNC-turn the central grip and shoulders, then produce the two thread ends to their separate lengths and fits.
- Final condition
- Solution annealing establishes the specified corrosion-resistant condition; strength is not obtained by precipitation aging.
- Inspection
- Chemistry · final condition · thread inspection · specified mechanical properties
Where C-22 fits — and what matters

Chemical Processing
Chemical pump covers and reactor connectionsHastelloy C-22 double-end studs connect chemical pump covers and reactor connections through a threaded body end and an accessible nut end. The plain shank spans the cover grip. Process liquid can remain at the contact after the exposed surface drains.

Pumps, Valves & OEM
Pump casings and valve bonnetsHastelloy C-22 double-end studs connect pump casings and valve bonnets through a threaded body end and an accessible nut end. The plain shank spans the cover grip. Repeated maintenance makes fit, engagement and access part of the component specification.

Mining & Mineral Processing
Chemical-recovery pump and vessel coversHastelloy C-22 double-end studs connect chemical-recovery pump and vessel covers through a threaded body end and an accessible nut end. The plain shank spans the cover grip. Leach solution and deposits act on the installed part; corrosion duty is separate from abrasive wear.

Why separate the two threaded ends in a C-22 order?
Body engagement, nut travel and the unthreaded grip serve different functions. Specify both end lengths and fits so corrosion-resistant material is delivered in a stud that actually fits the cover assembly.
