Finished boltASTM A1082/A1082MS32760 · special-purpose bolting

Specify the exact UNS and condition; include A962/A962M common requirements. Inch and metric designations are separate order choices, not mixed unit tables.

Do not treat S32750 and S32760 as one grade. Retain the S32760 identity and condition through material and finished-bolt records.

Raw material specificationASTM A276/A276M / ASTM A479/A479MUNS S32760

S32760 · stainless bar

Identify S32760, solution treatment and stock form. A182 F55 is a forging designation, not a finished hex-bolt performance class.

Dimensions · metricISO 4014 / ISO 4017Coarse pitch · partial-thread bolts / full-thread hex screws

Select head width s, height k and thread length b. These are dimensional references here; other alloys do not automatically conform to the full steel/stainless product standard. Fine-pitch geometry needs a separate drawing or applicable standard.

Dimensions · inchASME B18.2.1Inch hex bolts / hex cap screws

Select the bolt or cap-screw pattern, head dimensions and thread length. Hex and heavy hex are different choices.

Threads · metricISO 261 / ISO 965-1Metric M · pitch plan and tolerance system

State diameter × pitch and external tolerance class, e.g. M12 × 1.75–6g. Fine pitch must be written explicitly; 6g is a thread tolerance, not a strength grade.

Threads · UNC / UNFASME B1.1Unified inch · coarse / fine series

State diameter, TPI, series and external class: e.g. 1/2-13 UNC-2A or 1/2-20 UNF-2A. Select 2A / 3A with the mating-thread fit; UNC and UNF do not mate.

Technical help

Is F55 the finished-bolt specification for S32760?

A182 F55 is a forging designation. For the reviewed special-purpose bolting route, A1082/A1082M identifies S32760 and works with A962/A962M. Specify the finished condition, tests, dimensions and thread independently of a forging label.

Can a supplier substitute S32750 for S32760?

Retain S32760 unless a substitution is approved against the design requirements. The grades have separate identities. Compare the material condition and required corrosion and mechanical acceptance before agreeing to a change.

1/2-13 UNC-2A1/2 inch · 13 TPI · coarse · external class 2A

1/2-20 UNF-2A1/2 inch · 20 TPI · fine · external class 2A

Examples explain designations, not available sizes. Specify fine pitch explicitly. UNC and UNF do not mate; full or partial threading is a separate choice.
